September/October Favourites

Honestly, this was meant to be my September favourites but lighting has not been on my side and October seems to have just flown by. Before I blink again and it's suddenly the end of November, it's time to talk to you about the products I've loved throughout the last two months. Yes, shock horror, I actually changed up my makeup and finally have some new products to talk to you about.

To be honest, I'm not much of a primer person. I've only ever tried one which kept making my skin break out and it's just never been a product that I've been all that into. That being said, I was drawn to this the second I saw it, simply because it has 'shine control' in the name (plus I've loved every NARS product I've tried.) Since I started using this, my makeup has lasted so much longer, my skin has been much less shiny throughout the day and if I ever forget to use it, I can really notice the difference. It hasn't made my skin break out at all and I can't find anything that I don't like about it.

To be honest, I don't normally pay much attention to the samples that I receive with orders but something about this caught my eye. I've been using this everyday since receiving it and honestly, I love it. This is the first mascara I've used which looks exactly the same in the evening as it does when I've originally put it on and with this, my eyelashes actually stay curled throughout the day. The formula is definitely lengthening and it's not clumpy at all but I think it could be a touch more voluminous.

Where do I even start, this highlighter is simply gorgeous. Champagne/gold highlighters are definitely my go-to and this is no exception. It is a very soft and smooth powder so it's easy to apply and blend on the skin and the pigmentation is great which builds up to a luminous pearl sheen. Yes you do need to layer it a few times but that's no different to any other highlighter that I've tried.

Cream eyeshadow sticks are my first option when I'm in a rush to do my makeup and the By Terry Ombré Blackstars are my first choice. They are simply amazing and out of the four that I have, Bronze Moon is one of my go-to autumn shades, especially over the past two months. The formula is so creamy, it just melts onto the skin and unlike any others I've tried, they don't dry straight away meaning they blend very easily for a cream eyeshadow. The pigmentation is unlike any other, it is simply incredible - I don't have the words to describe it!

Why I haven't mentioned this to you before I really don't know. I have three of these now and I've been using them more or less everyday for the past five years. It is a synthetic dual-fibre brush so the bristles are incredibly soft, they soak up hardy any product compared to other brushes I've used and the bristles aren't too densely packed meaning they move very easily. I use this brush everyday and it blends both my concealer and foundation amazingly. They clean very well and only recently have I started to notice some bristles shedding in one of the three, which is pretty impressive considering how long I've had it.

I've been trying to change up my makeup a bit more to get ready for Autumn and I've already found a few products that I'm hoping will be part of my favourites next month. What products have you been loving recently?

My Holy Grail Foundation | NARS Sheer Glow

Considering the fact I've been using this foundation for the past 3 years, I can't believe I haven't reviewed it yet. It's no secret that I like my high end makeup products and NARS was one of the first high end brands I bought anything from. Their Sheer Glow Foundation was the second product of theirs that I tried and in all honesty, the first time I used it I was quite disappointed.

To start with I was matched to the wrong shade which was actually 2 shades too dark, and I was so comfortable with my current foundation that I didn't think I could get used to a new formula. But does anyone actually feel comfortable with just hiding a £30+ foundation at the back of their makeup drawer and never using it again? I tried using it mixed with other foundations, over different moisturisers, before or after concealer and with different brushes and eventually I fell in love with it. Fast forward 3 years and I'm still using and loving it everyday.

The NARS website says;

"A glowing, natural finish foundation with sheer and buildable coverage that immaculately evens skin tone. Replete with skincare benefits and the NARS Complexion Brightening Formula, it leaves skin hydrated, more luminous, softer and smooth. Used daily, Sheer Glow Foundation improves the skin's brightness and texture. For normal, normal-to-dry and dry skin types."

Unlike the name 'sheer glow' and what the description says, I don't find this to be a sheer coverage, yes it is buildable but it is much closer to a medium coverage foundation. Sheer glow also isn't particularity glowy, it's definitely not matte but also it's not a dewy finish, it's more of a happy medium. Okay, I'm not one to believe that foundation can do wonders for your skin because it's makeup not skincare, so I wouldn't say that this has improved the brightness or texture of my skin. However, I would say that it has a very hydrating texture. Surely any foundation that isn't hydrating will suck all the moisture out of your skin and make it feel more like a desert right?

NARS Sheer Glow has a creamy texture which is very hydrating and lightweight and it doesn't make my skin feel like it's suffocating underneath a layer or 2 of foundation. It's recommended for normal-dry skin types but as someone with combination skin, I still love it and with the right powder it will last you all day; a primer will help even further with any oiliness. I'm typing this having had it on my skin for 11 hours and yes my skin is a little shiny but it hasn't worn off at all. I have noticed that if I've been a bit lazy with my skincare and my skin isn't as smooth as normal before applying this, it does show up the drier areas and can start to look a little cakey.

I know there are a lot of bloggers who hate the bottle of NARS Sheer Glow because it doesn't have a pump and if you want one you need to buy it separately. The first time I bought Sheer Glow I did buy a pump but it didn't reach all of the product so the closer I got to finishing the bottle, I ended up getting more product from pouring it out anyway.

It's not the cheapest foundation at £33 but a little goes a long way so in my books, it's worth every penny. What is your holy grail foundation?

Current Favourites

In all honesty, my favourites haven't really changed that much over the last few months since I uploaded my March & April Favourites post. I've been using pretty much all the same products and doing the same makeup look everyday since then (even with a whole drawer of makeup sitting next to me). Anyway, I have still managed to find a few other products that I have been loving recently.

Urban Decay Naked Palette

I've still been loving my MAC eyeshadows and they have been my go-to almost everyday. Although on the days where I haven't had as much time to get ready, I've been reaching for my Naked palette. Sidecar is an old favourite shade of mine so I immediately gravitated towards that shade and washing it over my eyelids. Sidecar is a very subtle shade so I've been using Buck to add some more depth into the crease. Virgin is a gorgeous shimmery pearl shade which I actually use everyday to highlight the inner corners of my eyes to brighten them up slightly.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush - Mood Exposure
Hourglass Ambient Strobe Lighting Blush - Brilliant Nude

Oh Hourglass, what can I say. Hourglass blushes are without a doubt my favourite and I can't remember the last time I did my makeup without using one. Mood Exposure I fell in love with from their original blush palette and that didn't change after buying the full size. This is actually much more pigmented than it was in the palette; trust me and be careful or you'll end up looking like a clown! I've been reaching for Mood Exposure a lot more recently when I've been using my Naked palette as it's still a very natural shade but adds a bit more colour to my face.

Brilliant Nude is my new favourite blush shade. I can't believe how quickly I used this up in the Ambient Strobe Lighting Blush Palette. I haven't used the full size of this yet so I'm not sure how it compares to the palette but if the pigmentation is just as good then perfect! I've been reaching for this when using my MAC eyeshadows to give my cheeks some life without my makeup looking like I've gone too overboard with colour.

Both shades are incredibly soft, a dream to blend and the pigmentation is amazing; Brilliant Nude lasted in the blush palette for about 4 months even though I was using it almost everyday. I'm already so excited for their new holiday palettes!

The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer

I had heard about this highlighter so many times and knew that it was very popular but for ages it wasn't a product I was all that bothered about. I couldn't have been more wrong! I've been using this pretty much everyday for the past 4 months and I've hardly made a dent in it. It is a very soft and pigmented champagne powder and for ages I almost forgot about all the other highlighters in my collection (including Champagne Pop!) I've mainly been using this with Brilliant Nude as it compliments the golden highlighter running through the blush. I actually have 2 of these as the first one arrived broken but the pigmentation is so spot on I think it'll take me a couple of years to get through them both!

Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick - Valentine

I did actually mention this in my March & April Favourites but I haven't stopped using it since. It is described as a petal-rose pink which in my opinion the perfect spring/summer shade. I love the creamy formula of this lipstick, it goes on smoothly and it doesn't dry out your lips but if your lips are very dry then it will show through. I noticed that unlike the Kim K.W shade, as this wears off it leaves a stain of colour on your lips, one of my friends thought I had just re-applied it when in fact it was actually a few hours before. This is a limited edition shade and I've already bought one backup but at this rate, I think I'll need to get a second!

L'Oreal Pure Clay Glow Scrub

It's very rare for me to fall in love with a product after the first time I've used it. Sometimes I think oh I love it and then after a while it doesn't seem as amazing as it first did. However, the first time I used this I knew it was going to be a favourite. In all honesty, I have been seriously slacking with my skincare routine for the past few months so I hadn't been using this everyday until more recently. I'm not a fan of scrubs and can't stand the feeling of them but this just feels like a slightly gritty cleanser, so I was surprised how well it worked and how soft my skin was afterwards. If I go just one day without using this, I really notice in the texture of my skin but I haven't been using it long enough to know if it has brightened my skin just yet. My makeup has also been going on so much better and looking a lot better after using this.

TIGI S-Factor Silky Smooth Moisture Serum

Last but not least, another product that very quickly managed to find a way into my favourites. I was about to order another bottle of the TIGI S-Factor Smoothing Lusterizer when I saw this mentioned on someones blog. Unlike the lusterizer, this doesn't make my hair feel like it's covered with product, even after styling. I use this when my hair is wet before blow-drying and considering how frizzy my hair goes (think of a lion's mane), I was very surprised to see just how much this smoothed down the frizziness. It has been leaving my hair silky smooth just as it says on the bottle and I'm so glad I decided to try this one. I can't for the life of me remember who's blog I saw this on but thank you! Plus it smells like strawberries and cream, what more could you want?

(Top to Bottom) Brilliant Nude, Mood Exposure, Mary Lou Manizer, Valentine
The weather has been so temperamental recently and we haven't exactly had much of a summer in the UK this year so I'm already getting excited for Autumn. What have been your staple products throughout the summer?

It's Okay To Take A Break

Anyone who's been reading my blog for a while now will know that me and my blog seem to have a very on-off relationship (if only I had a pound for every time I've said that). My last post was at the end of May and it honestly doesn't seem like it was 3 months ago. Life went very hectic very quickly and I couldn't find any time to sit down to even think about any blog posts let alone take photos for my blog or Instagram.

As someone who really doesn't like the heat, I spent the few weeks of summery weather that we did have, feeling ill and really appreciating the air con at work. Unfortunately in the UK, if we are lucky enough to get any summery weather, it doesn't last long enough for me to get climatized to it. It was my 21st birthday in June during the hottest days of the year and for multiple reasons including the heat, it wasn't anywhere near the 21st I had planned.

Oh July, the month where work makes my life go crazy. Summer sales in retail can be quite intense; weeks of planning, shopfloor prep the night before which doesn't always go to plan (as an anxious person, that's a part I always hope doesn't happen). Then there's the 5am start on the sale day and all you want is the shop to go back to normal. All I want to do around the sale is come home, watch Netflix and eat chocolate - as much as I love my blog, it was my last thought.

The longer I leave my blog, sadly the more motivation I lose but the more I miss it. To start with, the sun disappeared meaning I had no lighting for photos then I couldn't think of any post ideas and I became so bored of my template that I just completely lost my love of blogging. I was still reading other people's blog posts and looking through Instagram feeds but started feeling really low about my own that I just had no idea what to do. I tried my best to think of post ideas to get back into that blogging mindset and I've kept both my wishlist and shop pages up to date for you. Although I wasn't able to get any current content ready, I have been working on one post for the future which is very personal for me meaning it has been very difficult to write. I had become so focused on trying to get that post perfect even though I knew I wouldn't be uploading it until I'm 100% ready that I just ignored the drafts that I had waiting for me. Eventually, I decided to take a break altogether. I left that post alone after starting it again from scratch for the third time, I left Instagram for a while and I completely pushed my blog to the side.

I have really missed blogging over the last few months and now I've got a week off work, I'm ready to try and create some new content for you! New template and new posts. What do you do when life gets in the way of your blog?

Trip To My Favourite Place | Brighton Photo Diary

A few weeks ago me and my mum took a trip down to one of our favourite places, Brighton. I've been going for a few years now and I never get bored, it's such a beautiful town and every time I go, I end up finding new little shops or lanes we hadn't seen before. I only had my phone with me but took a lot of photos so a little warning that I've included a lot on here.

March & April Favourites

May where have you come from, I feel like the last two months have disappeared. I've blinked and April is already over. Although, alongside eating as much chocolate as possible for easter even without Easter eggs, I've managed to get out of my NARS Isolde and CT Kim KW comfort zone and have finally introduced some new products to my routine.

Zoeva 221 Luxe Soft Crease
Zoeva 228 Luxe Crease

There aren't any words to describe Zoeva brushes. The two I've been loving recently are both crease brushes and blend eyeshadow beautifully. 221 and 228 are different sizes of the same shape brush, giving you the choice of either a softer or more defined look. What I love about these brushes is how well they clean. They don't stain in the slightest and are just as soft after washing as they were when I got them.
Burberry Eye Colour Contour - Pale Copper
MAC Eyeshadows - Woodwinked and Sable

I love using cream eyeshadows as a base and Burberry Pale Copper has been my shade of choice everyday for the last month. It has a very creamy formula but sets quickly making it harder to blend if you leave it too long. On top of that I have been adding two MAC eyeshadows. Woodwinked, which is quite similar in shade but has a slightly more gold tone all over, and then Sable in the crease which is more of a plum-tone to add some depth. They are some of the softest eyeshadows I own, very pigmented and blend like a dream.

L'Oreal Superliner Perfect Slim
Bourjois Liner Pinceau

Liquid eyeliner was my comfort blanket a few years ago and have fallen back in love with the same products. L'Oreal Superliner is a pen design making it easier to get that perfect flick as you have more control over wear you put it but is a bit more time consuming. Bourjois Liner Pinceau is a liquid so much quicker to apply on your lash line with the brush but can make it harder to get a more defined flick. They are both very long-lasting and I haven't noticed either of them wearing off or smudging throughout the day.
NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer

Ever since I got my hands on this I've been reaching for it over my Collection concealer which is saying something. It's as creamy as it describes so it blends into the skin really well and you can layer it without it making you look like a cake. I have the lightest shade Chantilly and I've never known a concealer to brighten under my eyes as well as this one does.

Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick - Valentine

I'm slowly stepping away from Kim KW, and Charlotte Tilbury's Valentine is starting to become my go-to lipstick. It's a petal-rose pink shade and has a very creamy formula which doesn't dry out your lips. What I love about this shade is that it wears off evenly leaving a stain of colour on your lips. I hope this isn't limited edition or I'm going to need a backup.

The Vampire Diaries

Why I didn't watch this sooner I have no idea. My friend introduced me to The Vampire Diaries a couple of months ago and spent the majority of March catching up in time to watch the last episode. If you are looking for a new programme to watch, give it a chance and trust me you'll be hooked. Now that it's finished you can binge watch it to your hearts content and you won't have to wait a week to find out what happens.

13 Reasons Why

If you haven't heard anyone talking about 13 Reasons Why recently then you must be living under a rock. It is a series based around a girl who commits suicide and it shows you both her life up to that moment and after. It is a programme that is quite difficult to watch at times but sends a very strong message about mental health. I was hooked but I will suggest not to binge watch it as it has very hard-hitting storylines. (Watch The Vampire Diaries between episodes instead.)

The weather is very on-off in the UK at the moment but I'm so excited for May where everything becomes full-on spring. What have you been loving for the past few months?

Mini Beauty Haul

It's no secret that I have a slight shopping addiction. I've been surprisingly restrictive recently but obviously couldn't go the whole month without treating myself to a few things I've had my eye on for a while.

Hourglass Ambient Strobe Lighting Blush Palette £59
Hourglass really don't need any introduction. I have their original blush palette and I wasn't too bothered about their 'edit' palettes but as soon as I saw this I knew I had to have it. There are 2 limited edition shades and one permanent all infused with their Strobe Lighting Highlighters. Hourglass blushes are some of my favourites so I can already tell I'm going to love this.

Benefit GALifornia Blush £24.50
Isn't this the most beautiful blush you've ever seen? I love the Rockateur blush so I knew I had to give this a try. It's a gorgeous pink shade with shimmering gold in the middle to add a touch of highlight. It smells incredible with the scent of pink grapefruit and vanilla. I think this is going to be the perfect summer shade.

Burberry Eye Colour Contour - Pale Copper £23
Burberry isn't a brand that I've ever looked at for makeup. In one of Zoe's vlogs last year, she used this shade as part of a makeup look and I've had it on my list ever since.

MAC Pro Palette Compact x4 £5
MAC Eyeshadow Pan - Woodwinked and Sable £10
I've had my eye on MAC eyeshadows for years but never knew which shades to go for. Woodwinked has always been one I've graduated towards. These two shades are also what Zoe used with Burberry Pale Copper, it's one of the few looks I've wanted to recreate.

L'Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream £8
Over the last year or two, my hands have suddenly been really dry and nothing I've tried has helped much in the long run. I've never used L'Occitane products before but from reading reviews, this looks promising!

L-R; Burberry Pale Copper | MAC Woodwinked | MAC Sable | Benefit GALifornia | Hourglass Ambient Strobe Lighting Blush Palette

Is there really any better way to reward yourself for not spending with new makeup?

Shopping My Stash

I have a massive habit when it comes to makeup. I find something online, look up a countless number of swatches and reviews, buy it and then it just stays sitting in my makeup drawer unused and unloved.

I've decided that I want to change up my makeup routine a lot more this year instead of sticking to the same products every single day. So, I've had a look through my collection and picked out 7 products that I want to use more over the next few months.

 Palettes
Too Faced Natural Eyes Palette
NARS Virtual Domination Cheek Palette

I'm ashamed to say that I haven't actually used the Too Faced Palette and have hardly touched the Nars one. Everytime I do my makeup I just end of reaching for my individual products and always forget my palettes are there.
Natural Eyes is very similar to the original Naked palette and always end up reaching for that one instead. Blush tends to be the one thing I change each day and considering the amount of effort I went to to get hold of this palette I have no idea why I don't reach for this more often. It has the perfect shades for spring so I'm definitely going to start using this again soon.

Eyes
Estee Lauder Eyeshadow Duo - Raisins
Ciate Precious Metal Eyeshadow - Collins Ave and Lincoln Road

Estee Lauder 'Raisins' is an old favourite of mine but can't remember the last time I used it. Sometimes I think I'm too scared to reach for it as it was discontinued and won't be able to get another one.
I never give myself enough time in the morning to think about changing my makeup so always reach for the same products. These pigments are beautiful and have amazing pigmentation. I need to take a step back from my usual eyeshadows for once and give them their turn.

Blush
Too Faced Sweethearts Blush - Sparkling Bellini

I kept changing my mind on this Too Faced blush but bit the bullet when I heard a rumour that it was limited edition. It's very different to the normal pink blush shades I go for and looks lovely for spring.

Lipsticks
YSL Rouge Volupte - Peach Passion
MAC Lipstick - Creme Cup

Peach passion is the perfect spring shade and YSL lipsticks have a very moisturising texture. This will be top of my list of products to use throughout spring.
I'm sure MAC's Creme Cup was every blogger's favourite MAC lipstick at some point as it is the perfect nude shade. Cremesheen formulas are my favourite as they're very moisturising. I definitely went through a stage of using this everyday and forgetting about every other shade I owned.

Any products you've kept in your collection and have never used?

January Favourites

Monthly favourites are some of my favourite posts to read and write because you get to see what products someone has really enjoyed using. Although, I actually find it difficult to pick out different products each month as once I find something I like I use it everyday.
By Terry Ombre Blackstar - Bronze Moon

I decided to take a step back from NARS Isolde for a while and give By Terry its turn. I always tend to stick to bronze shades and this is my new go-to. The texture is very creamy so it's easy to apply and blend and it lasts all day, the perfect option if you're in a rush.

Benefit Rockateur Blush
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush - Mood Exposure

For the past few months these have been the only blushes I've reached for. They're quite similar shades on the skin and both look very natural. Hourglass blushes are probably my favourite, the texture is soft and buttery and they're very easy to blend.
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector - Champagne Pop
MAC Mineralize Skinfinish - Soft & Gentle

Champagne Pop was actually the first highlighter I ever used and now I know why it was so hyped up. The shade is beautiful, the pigmentation and colour payoff is amazing so you don't need to apply much for it to show up on your skin.
I've had my eye on Soft & Gentle for years and my friend Millie bought it for me for Christmas (thank you!) It's a beautiful shimmery pale pink shade but quite subtle compared to Champagne PopYou have to build it up a bit more but it's worth it.

Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips Lipstick - Kim K.W.

What can I say about this lipstick. It is the perfect nude shade and I've used it almost every day for months. It's one of the most moisturising lipsticks I own but the only issue I have is that it doesn't last a massive amount of time on my lips. Saying that I've just purchased a new one and it is the only lipstick I've ever bought a backup of, I think that speaks for itself.
Michael Kors Rose Radiant Gold Perfume

This is a newer favourite of mine. I originally purchased this in the 2015 Boxing Day sales but didn't really give it much attention. I started using it again towards the end of last year and fell in love with the scent. I'm useless at picking up what tones make up a fragrance so I couldn't even begin to describe this to you. It's not a overly feminine scent and it's definitely not floral but I've had compliments every time I've worn it.

February Wishlist

It's no secret that I spend way too much money, the idea of saving just doesn't seem to stay in my head for very long. I either waste all my wages as soon as I get them or restrain myself for a couple of weeks and then get a bit order happy. So as much as I'm going to try and save throughout February, there's no harm in window shopping right?

Zara Suede Effect Jacket £59.99 LINK
Kat Von D Tattoo Liner £16
Benefit Galifornia Blush £24.50
Hourglass Ambient Strobe Lighting Blush Palette
Kat Von D Lock-it Loose Powder £20
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector - Opal £32
NARS Velvet Lip Glide - Stripped £22
Zara Boatneck Sweater £25.99 LINK

I've got my eye on a lot of makeup products at the moment and another jacket that I definitely don't need. I'm sure I'll let you know either on here or my Instagram if I *accidentally* purchase any of these. Need to restrain myself before Spring collections get released!

Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief

What can I say. In a nutshell, this moisturiser is amazing and I can't sing its praises enough. I've lost count of how many pots of this I've gone through and always start to panic about when I can buy a new one when I start to run out. It has rightfully earned its place in my skincare routine.

I have only used one high end moisturiser before this one which was also a primer. Generally I have struggled to find any I was interested in trying so always stuck to highstreet moisturisers. After watching some youtube videos I heard nothing but positive things about Clinique Moisture Surge and knew I had to try it.

Personally I love the packaging of a little glass pot and it looks lovely sitting on my dressing table but I know a lot of people think it is a little unhygienic.

Luckily my nearest boots store has a Clinique counter so I asked if I could have a sample to try first. She asked me some questions about my skin and recommended a different moisturiser but gave me some of the Moisture Surge to try as well. The first time I used this I was shocked by how nice it feels on the skin and the unusual consistency. It has a lightweight and cooling gel texture which is very calming on your skin without the sticky residue. It's like a tall glass of water for your skin.

Clinique Moisture Surge is completely oil and fragrance free and no matter your skin type, dry, oily, combination, dehydrated or fairly normal - you need a pot of this in your life. As well as being perfect to soothe your skin in the evening, it works really well as a base for makeup as it sinks into the skin almost immediately.

You can use it as a moisturiser or a 5 minute mask, massaging it into your skin afterwards. A little really does go a long way and the slightly higher price tag is definitely worth the wonders this pink gel does for your skin.

There is a wide range of moisture surge products which I am yet to try but I'm expecting good things.

Ten Tips To Refresh Your Life

It's such a cliche to say 'new year, new me' at the start of every year but I've realised throughout 2016 that every now and then, you really do need to put your foot down, have a refresh and make some changes for the better.

One - Have a clear out
It's so refreshing to have a massive spring clean of your wardrobe! Stop wearing the same few things over and over again and throw a few things away. Be strict and get rid of anything you're clinging onto just for the sake of it!

Two - Redecorate
Move your furniture around, get some new bedding, paint the walls and change your colour theme. Even adding some fairy lights can make a room more cosey.

Three - Go shopping (obviously)
Have some retail therapy, why not! Go out alone or with some friends, buy some new clothes or that lipstick you've had your eye on for ages. Get some homeware bits to brighten up your room.

Four - Take a step back
If you feel like you're doing too much at once, ask someone for help or simply slow down and do one thing at a time. Don't set yourself a deadline for anything!

Five - Look at who is around you
Think about who you have in your life right now. If they're having a negative impact on you or simply aren't making you feel good about yourself, it might be time to make some distance between you both.

Six - Take care of yourself
We all need to focus on ourselves every now and then. Have a day to yourself, don't rush around doing chores. Make a hot chocolate with extra marshmallows, sit down, put your phone on silent and read your favourite book.

Seven - Talk to someone
If you're feeling upset or stressed about anything, find someone you can comfortably talk to about it. Trust me, after sharing what you're worried about with somebody, it honestly feels like a weight has been lifted off of your shoulders!

Eight - Change your routine
After a while your day to day routine can get a bit boring and you start to feel like a robot living everyday minute to minute and checking your phone like a newspaper each morning. Get ready in a different order, change up your makeup or have something different for breakfast.

Nine - Have a break (have a kit kat)
Take a few days off work or spend a weekend away from home. Go on a spontaneous trip alone or with your best friend to your favourite place and just forget about everything.

Ten - Distance yourself from social media
I know that this is a lot easier said than done but can be very refreshing. Keep a diary each day instead of updating your Facebook status or posting a tweet; you won't end up constantly checking your phone for replies every 5 minutes.

I hope 2017 treats you all well!
