Monthly Favourites | May

I haven't got many favourites this month as I've been busy with exams and revision so I haven't had the opportunity to try out any new products. However, I thought I would still share with you the few products that I have enjoyed using.

Garnier Intensive 7 Days Soothing Lotion with Calming Honey for Sensitive Skin LINK
I am one of the worst and most unreliable people when it comes to moisturising my arms and legs regularly and my legs especially can be very sensitive. During the month of May, I have been making myself use this again and regularly to get some moisture back into my skin and it leaves my arms and legs very soft and smooth without causing any sensitivity.

Benefit They're Real! Mascara LINK
This month, ELLE magazine were giving away free mini samples of Benefit's They're Real! Mascara. This is a very popular and raved about product by beauty lovers and I have wanted to try it out for a while but I couldn't justify spending £19.50 on a mascara that I might not like. I can now definitely see how this is of holy grail standard and will definitely be repurchasing the full size when I can. It lengthens, separates and adds some volume to your lashes whilst keeping it looking natural because of the name 'They're Real!'

Nails Inc Kensington Caviar Top Coat LINK
This is a mini bottle that I received in a Nails Inc gift set at Christmas and haven't really given it much of a trial until recently. I have been using this throughout the end of April and the month of May and I have been a lot more impressed with it than I thought I would be! This has kept my nail polish in place for the last month or so with only minor and recent chipping. I'm not sure whether it is better than the OPI top coat and I'm waiting to give Seche Vite a try when I can get my hands on it. However I have still enjoyed using this.

Aussie Miracle Moist Conditioner LINK
I finished my bigger bottle of this a while ago but never seemed to remember to pick up a new one. My TIGI conditioner is starting to run out and it is a little pricey for me to repurchase at the moment so I thought I would purchase a small bottle of this for the time being and switch it between my deep conditioners and the remainder of my TIGI conditioner. I have been using this for the majority of May more than the others I own and I have no idea why I left it so long to purchase it and have definitely rediscovered my love for this product. If you have dry or damaged hair then I definitely advise you to give this a try!

Essie Nail Polish - Fiji LINK
Another cult and raved about beauty product is Essie's nail polish in 'Fiji'. I think every nail polish/beauty lover owns this and I have only heard good reviews about it! I finally decided to pick it up at the end of April as Topshop didn't have the polish which I was looking for and it gave me the opportunity to give this a go. I can definitely see why this is such a popular product and it is one of the perfect polishes for the end of Spring and all of Summer. This has lovely pigmentation and a lovely formula to it which allows the colour to be built up or sheered out as much as you would like.

Thank you for reading.

Spring/Summer Edition | Nails

Colours on the nails are starting to change throughout the end of Spring and the beginning of Summer but people don't always seem to be able to choose between pastels or bright shades. I have picked out 10 of my favourites that I can see myself wearing over the next few months. I have chosen 5 pastel shades and 5 bright shades.

As for the pastels, I think they are the safest option as they suit every skin tone and there is at least one shade out there for everybody. Pastels are also always the way to go if you're not much of a fan of bright nails. The first shade I have is a nude and is 'Fiji' by Essie and always reminds me of a ballerina shade of pink. Very flattering, subtle and makes you look a lot more tanned. The next is also a nude which is 'Lychee' from the Barry M Gelly Hi Shine collection. This is one of the most gorgeous nude shades which I have found and will suit every skin tone. It isn't too pink or too brown and is the perfect balance between the two and is very pigmented, very long lasting and very glossy. 'Berry Ice Cream' by Barry M is a shade that I usually neglect and haven't worn in a very long time. It is a lovely pastel lilac/lavender shade that isn't too bright and can be sheered out if you don't want it to be opaque and the colour is still visible. Barry M's 'Blue Moon' is one of my newest shades and is the perfect shade if you want a small hint or touch of blue on your nails. Last is 'Mint Cream' by e.l.f. and this is a pale pastel, but still classic mint shade. For the price, the pigmentation and lasting power of this is amazing and is a great shade if you want a hint of colour on your nails without it being too bright or too nude.

For the brights, you can stay simple or you can go for the brighter shades. First I have chosen 'Blueberry' from Barry M's Gelly Hi Shine Collection and is a lovely shade of blue with a small hint of purple which stands out but still isn't too bright on the nails. 'Greenberry' by Barry M is a really nice green-based turquoise  which I see being a very popular shade during the summer. If you're looking for a bright orange or pink then Barry M - 'Satsuma' and 'Elephantastic Pink' by OPI are the polishes you should be looking at. Last I have chosen Barry M's 'Lemon Ice Cream' which is a classic bright yellow. If you want to make it look brighter and almost neon then apply a white coat of polish underneath.

Which colours will you be wearing during the end of Spring and Summer?

Taaj Micellar Water Makeup Remover | Review

Micellar waters started to become both more popular and more well-know in the beauty world throughout last year. More people started purchasing different ones and more brands started to release them. Most of which were from French skincare brands which are hard to get hold of outside of France and particularly in the UK.

I had seen the Taaj Micellar Cleansing Water multiples times throughout the last few months of 2012 after people said they had received a small sample in of it in one of Glossybox's monthly subscription boxes. I also saw this mentioned multiple times on YouTube, mainly on Zoe Sugg's channel (Zoella280390) when she had included it in many of her videos. I had never heard of Taaj as a brand before and was interested in researching the brand as well as what other products they sold.
Bioderma was another micellar water which I had seen all over the blogosphere and over YouTube. This is supposedly very popular and used by a number of make up artists. Bioderma is also one of the most reviewed and raved about beauty and skincare products online - both blogs and YouTube.

I jumped on the 'micellar bandwagon' and as Bioderma is much more expensive and harder to get hold of in the UK, I asked for the Taaj Micellar Cleansing Water for Christmas last year. This is a water makeup remover and cleanser which can be used on the eyes and face and is suitable for all skin types. I tried this once and then left it until I finished my other eye make up remover. I have tried this on my face but I'm not a very big fan of how it felt on my skin however, it did remove my makeup well but a little force was needed to ensure that all of it was removed. I have very sensitive eyes and was worried that this would sting but it felt absolutely fine and is the best remover for eye make up that I have tried. This removes all of my mascara and eyeliner very easily and without using much product or force.

Taaj claims for this to be both purifying and revitalizing and I definitely agree with this claim. I know I previously mentioned that I don't like to use this on my face but it is very cooling and refreshing on my eyes and doesn't cause me any pain or sensitivity.

The Taaj water is available online on the Joliebox (now Birchbox) website for roughly £16 here and on the Amazon for roughly £22.05 here. Both websites sell a 500ml bottle which will last you AGES! I have had mine since Christmas last year and still have more than one third of the product left so it is definitely worth the price. Bioderma is now available in the UK so I'm thinking of trying that out to see the comparison. You can find Bioderma in some independent pharmacies and online from the Escentual website here.

Have you tried any micellar waters? What did you think?

Monthly Favourites | April

Hey everyone!

Today I thought I would give you the run down of the products that I have been loving throughout the month of April!
Sorry for the poor lighting in the images!

TIGI S-Factor Smoothing Conditioner LINK
I purchased this at the beginning of January and originally I wasn't as much of a fan of this than I was of the shampoo, deep conditioner or the de-frizzer that I also purchased which I included in my February and March Favourites post
I have been using this a lot recently and I now really like it. It has made my hair feel a lot healthier and softer and I will definitely continue to repurchase this :)

L'oreal Elnett Satin Heat Protect Styling Spray Straight LINK
I haven't been able to find a heat protectant to use when straightening my hair that I really love and would repurchase. I saw this advertised and read some reviews and thought I would try it out!
This helps to keep your hair straight for 3 days and my hair can go frizzy again the morning after straightening so I wanted to see if this would help
This does keep a straight style for a couple of days, works really smell and also smells nice:)
I haven't used this for long enough yet to decide whether or not I will repurchase :)

Bourjois Radiance Reveal Healthy Mix Foundation - 51 LINK
I always get a bit wary if a makeup or skincare product I use changes its formula and wonder whether or not it is still going to work well for me. I have finished 2 bottles of the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation and they had released the new formula and packaging version when I went back to repurchase it again
However, I much prefer this version to the previous one! I think that this provides a little more coverage and lasts a little longer on the skin :)

Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint - Lychee LINK
I wanted to start wearing some more nude nail polish as well as creating more nail art and came across a filigree nail art design with a nude base but I didn't own a colour similar to the colour which was used.
I hadn't tried any of the Barry M Gelly polishes as the colours didn't really appeal to me too much until they released this shade so I decided to pick it up :)
Great pigmentation, very shiny and lasts a long time! Will be purchasing some of the new shades :)

Zara Woman Perfume
I also included this in my February and March Favourites post but I have been using this throughout April as well. Lovely scent, very affordable and lasts a very long time on the skin :)

Rimmel Lasting Finish Soft Colour Blush - 010 Santa Rose
This is a very popular product among beauty bloggers and YouTubers and I eventually decided to purchase it. Great pigmentation, isn't chalky, very natural and blends really well :)

#semicolonproject416
This isn't a product favourite but it is a project that took place on the 16th April. This was the semi colon project and it was for people who either has depression, self harms, is suicidal, has anxiety or has recently lost a loved one to draw a semi colon on their wrist to support one another and to show that it is okay to reach out for help.
"This symbol represents a sentence the author could've ended, but chose not to.
The author is you and the sentence is your life."
I recently lost my Nan to Cancer a few months ago and suffer from an anxiety a little so this project meant more to me than I thought it would! I wrote a blog post for the project which you can read here and I also wrote a post including stress, anxiety and panic attacks which you can read here :)

Thank you for reading and hope you enjoyed it :)
