Bourjois Colour Boost Lip Crayons

The posts I feature the least on my blog seem to be reviews of products and I seem to have a lot more haul and monthly favourites posts! I started work at 7am this morning for the mid-season sale so thought I would spend this afternoon watching TV and writing out this review for you :)

Ever since the Clinque Chubby Sticks became popular on the blogosphere, more and more drugstore brands including Rimmel, No7, Revlon and Bourjois seem to have been releasing their own dupes to rival Clinque as well as each other.

The Bourjois Color Boost Lip Crayons are really the only drugstore version that has really caught my eye. Originally there were 4 shades and within weeks they released some more into stores.
They have more pigment than I was expecting but Bourjois is a brand that always seems to impress me! They are really moisturising on the lips and fade gradually to leave a slight tint throughout the day before it disappears completely but I definitely will last you a few hours, a bit less when eating and drinking.

The packaging makes them look a lot more expensive than they are and I would say have the best packaging compared to the other drugstore lip crayons. The lipstick itself winds up meaning you won't need to carry around a sharpener with you for when you need to touch up.

There are 6 shades available meaning it is easy to find the perfect shade for you; a pink/peach, fuschia pink, orange, 2 reds and a dark plum. They aren't so sheer that you will need to continue to apply until you can see even a hint of colour on your lips like some tinted lip balms. The texture is very smooth and hydrating without feeling sticky like a lipgloss but I do have to disagree with the 10 hour claim!

I have three shades from the collection; Fuschia Libre which is a hot/dark pink with some purple in it and I can tell it is going to be one of my favourite shades for Spring! Peach On The Beach which as you would think is a really nice peach shade with a hint of pink and is definitely the colour I reach for the most out of all my lipsticks on a daily basis. Finally, Orange Punch is as you would guess an orange shade but isn't as bright on the lips as most orange lipsticks you can find. I feel as though this can mix with the natural colour of your lips as sometimes it looks either more red or pink but it can also look as it does in the tube!

*UPDATE - A while ago I changed the name of my blog from The Make-Up Counter, I have now also changed the web address to www.molly-louisebeauty.blogspot.com - clicking on old links or searching the old web address won't bring you to the blog or specific blog post*

Have you tried any drugstore dupes for the Clinique Chubby Sticks?
What did you think about them and which was your favourite?

Spring Haul | Fashion & Beauty

I haven't posted a haul post since the beginning of January and for me that's quite a long time! I have been buying more recently so I thought I would share with you all what I purchased including some new clothes for Spring time!

Miss Selfridge Floral Print Playsuit £39 LINK
I had my eye on this since it came onto the Miss Selfridge website but it sold out almost instantly and my size was never in stock. I found it finally when I went shopping in London a few weeks ago, lovely floral print and has a half open back. Staple for spring time!

Topshop Grey Viscose V Tee £12 LINK
I'm not really a fan of grey but everyone needs some basic tops in their wardrobe! I love the v neck style and and is definitely something you can pair with any colour.

Miss Selfridge Blurred Floral Shirt £24 RRP £30 LINK
Once again YouTube had me wanting more clothes! My size was only in stock on the John Lewis website but they happened to have 20% off so I grabbed one of the last few in stock! Again, a gorgeous floral print with pastel and spring colours

Topshop Blue Notch Neck Throw On Coat £75 LINK
Whenever I find something I want it always seems to be out of stock everywhere. I originally wanted the mint green coat from Topshop but turns out it was one of the 'Last chance to buy' pieces so I picked up this mint blue one instead! Perfect colour for spring especially as the UK doesn't get that warm in the spring and summer.

ASOS Satchel Bag With Scallop Flap And Slot Through Straps £12.50 RRP £25 LINK
Again I had my eye on this for a while and when ASOS had 50% off chosen pieces, I grabbed it when I could! I absolutely love mint green and mint blue shades especially in spring time, this goes with the majority of stuff in my wardrobe and is amazing quality, especially for the price I paid!

Topshop MARTIE Black Patent T Bar Geek Shoes £32 LINK
I absolutely love these shoes, they remind me of the little dolly shoes you have in primary school. Look so nice with dresses and skirts and are really comfortable!

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation - Light Porcelain £5 RRP £6.99 LINK
Being so pale means it's difficult to find a foundation that is both the right shade and has more than light coverage. I love the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation but the Ivory shade is too dark for me to I thought I would pick up this foundation to mix the two together to make a better match!

Mii Cosmetics Blush - Kissed £12.87 RRP £16.50 LINK
I recently went to the Professional Beauty Show with college and this was one of the things on my list to pick up as everything at the show was discounted (think IMATS and Olympia Beauty). This is one of the nicest blush shades I have found, very pigmented but easy to work with!

Bourjois Colour Boost Lip Crayon - 02 Fuchsia Libre £7.99 LINK
I love the Bourjois Lip Crayons and have had my eye on this colour for a while now. Boots have a 3 for 2 offer at the moment and the sun is starting to come out so I thought I would pick it up. It is a gorgeous bright/darkish pink shade with a hint of plum and again, perfect for spring and summer! Very pigmented and moisturising but you will have to reapply after a few hours.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer - 1 Fair FREE RRP £4.19 LINK
This is finally back on the shelves and seeing as my Maybelline concealer is almost gone, it was the best time to go back to my old favourite! Great coverage, stays on all day and there's a perfect shade for everyone

Blank Canvas Cosmetics Brushes - F14, E26, F10 LINK(F14) LINK(E26) LINK(F10)
I really wanted some more brushes so while I was at the beauty show I mentioned before, I stopped by the Blank Canvas Cosmetics stand. F14 is great for blush, bronzer and highlighter and the E26 is a dupe for the MAC 217 is perfect for blending eyeshadow. I got the F10 for free and looks good for putting highlighter on your brow bone but I haven't yet used it!

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water £4.99 LINK
I went to pick up the L'oreal Micellar Water but I thought I would give the Garnier version a go instead. Double the quantity for the same price and I had read some really positive reviews. So far I really like it and is definitely as good as people are saying!

That's everything I have been buying for Spring so far!
What are your staples for spring and summer?

February Favourites

I'm not the best at being a frequent blogger but the lighting hasn't been very grateful for bloggers recently either! I thought I would round up my favourite products from February for you today on my day off from college!

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo [+] LINK
I was reluctant to try this after finding out it has a new formula and I think my skin is happy to have this back! It did make a slight improvement on my skin at first but it is definitely a product to continue using for it to keep working! Grab it now before it goes up to full price!

Nivea Soft Moisturiser LINK
My favourite moisturiser for my makeup base ran out and when it isn't available in my closest Boots store, I decided to try my Nivea Soft Moisturiser that has been sitting on my drawers for a while. I personally don't prefer it to my original Aveeno Moisturiser but I still think it does the job well and makes a good base for my makeup

Maybelline Fit Me! Concealer - 15 LINK
Similar to the majority of bloggers, the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer is the best I've tried but when it wasn't available in either Boots or Superdrug I had to look around. I normally read many reviews before I buy something but I couldn't start looking up reviews in the middle of Boots! I decided on the Maybelline Fit Me! Concealer after remembering Zoe from Zoella include it in a favourites video. This concealer blends really well and has better coverage than I thought. It isn't thick and does feel thin on the skin again with excellent coverage!

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation - Light Porcelain LINK
I have been loving the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation but with even the lightest shade too dark, I needed a cheap foundation to mix it with to lighten the shade. I have wanted to try this foundation since they changed the formula and with it also being on offer for £5, why not? It mixes really well, and both foundations together last all day. it seems like it would have light coverage if used on its own so this would be perfect for anyone who wants a lighter base

Estée Lauder Eyeshadow Duo - Raisins
I have mentioned this before after using the lighter shade but for a while I have been blending the darker shade on the outer corner of my eye after using the peach shade. The pigmentation is amazing and both shades blend effortlessly, unfortunately this has been discontinued but Estée Lauder have a new trio palette called 'Sterling Plums' with very similar shades

Maybelline 24HR Colour Tattoo - Pink Gold LINK
Getting the train to college and getting up at 6am means I don't always have time to be blending eyeshadow, so this has been my staple 'go to' quick eyeshadow recently. As the name suggests, it is a very nice pink shade with a hint of gold and subtle shimmer. Should definitely be a staple in everyone's makeup bag!

L'oreal Colour Infaillible Eyeshadow - 021 Sahara Treasure LINK
I have had this in my collection for a while but it seems like it managed to drop through the cracks whenever I would be doing my makeup. I decided one day to give a go and it is such a gorgeous shade! It is a pressed pigment so it isn't messy to carry around but has excellent colour payoff. It seems the 'go to' shade for this time of year is bronze shades on the eyes and natural makeup and this eyeshadow is perfect for that!

Essie Nail Polish - Mint Candy Apple and Saturday Disco Fever LINK
Two colours I have been loving recently are orange and mint green. Mint Candy Apple is the perfect mint shade and I have been using this shade at every opportunity when I'm not at college. Saturday Disco Fever is a bright orange shade that I have been loving using on my toes although looks a lot better with a layer of white polish underneath

Maybelline Baby Lips - Pink Punch LINK
To keep my lips moisturised whilst adding a hint of colour, the Maybelline Baby Lips is the perfect way to go! Similar to my eyeshadow, I needed something quick to put on before running out the house. I'm surprised at the amount of colour you can get from this at the same time as it being very moisturising! Again, something to always be kept in your makeup bag :)

Breaking Bad LINK
You're probably getting annoyed by the amount of people talking about Breaking Bad, but if you haven't watched it, seriously where have you been?! A few of my friends had been telling me to watch so I decided to use the free trial on Netflix to watch it, setting myself the task of watching all 5 seasons before the trial was over! Honestly, I did get a bit addicted to watching this and when the next episode was going to start 'in 8 seconds' I couldn't not watch it. I think I finished watching all seasons in 1 and a half to 2 weeks, it's that good!

That pretty much sums up my favourite products and one TV programme in February! What were your favourites? Have you watched Breaking Bad?
