Maybelline Colour Tattoos

MAYBELLINE 24HR COLOUR TATTOO CREAM EYESHADOW £4.99 LINK

When these cream eyeshadows were originally released in the UK, it seemed like every blogger went crazy over them and it did take me a while to actually pick one up. The UK has a lot less shades than the US and some of the shade names are slightly different as well. I have 3 shades from the collection; Pink Gold, On and On Bronze and Metallic Pomegranate. They were being constantly and repeatedly called the drugstore version of higher end cream eyeshadows from brands such as Benefit and MAC.

The packaging is pretty traditional for cream eyeshadows with the glass pot and a screw top lid which seems to prevent the eyeshadows from drying out over time and staying as creamy as they were when you originally purchased them. They stay all day without creasing and you can create whatever type of look you want with these shades. Pink Gold is a light pink with some subtle shimmer and some gold tones running through it; perfect for everyday or if you are doing your makeup on the go. On and On Bronze is a shimmery medium brown which can be used for whatever type of look you are aiming for; natural, everyday, evening! Finally, Metallic Pomegranate is a reddish plum which is fairly similar to the darker shade in my Estée Lauder 'Raisins' palette which I reviewed here. Definitely more of a night time/night out shade or during the day if you like darker eyeshadow looks.

The shadows are all really well pigmented so you don't need much product at all. They are also really creamy and really easy to blend, which takes seconds if you are in a rush to run out the door and don't have much time to do your eyeshadow. I actually prefer to apply the two darker shades with my e.l.f. Concealer Brush because it seems to provide a much better colour pay-off than just applying it quickly with your ring finger. They are £4.99 each and last a very long time so are definitely something to pick up if you are on a budget. Bourjois have also released their own versions of these eyeshadows to join the hype which are slightly more expensive than the Maybelline version and you can find them here. I'm taking some pictures tomorrow for two blog posts that I have never attempted before so stay tuned!
